I've decided to start a blog. I've wanted one for a while, and was determined not to need to put anything like WordPress on my server. I wanted it to be in pure HTML, or at least something in a very simple text-based format.
I've been getting into Emacs lately, mostly because of my interest in the PDP-10 and the ITS operating system, so I started branching out, and using it for some of my programming projects as well. Of course it wasn't long before I found org-mode and started using it for to-do lists at work and in my personal life; a little while later I discovered the power of the exporting functions. It's pretty handy, I can export to both HTML and LaTeX with the same input format, and from the same environment that I use for: todo lists, idea organization, time-tracking and outlining.
I see no need to be on most social-media sites in 2024, especially twitter[sic] and Facebook, but this site and blog, allows me to easily have the same functionality as those sites had 10-15 years ago.
Expect more posts soon. My intention is to add them slowly and in reverse order (newer posts always appearing at the top of this page). When I get to a quantity of posts that is too long on this page they will probably be archived.
